Cookie Policy

Last updated: 30th September 2026

This policy explains how Checkit Education Ltd ("CheckIt", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the CheckIt website at checkitglossary.com and in the CheckIt mobile apps (together, the "Service"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

1.1 Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit it. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage or your phone's secure storage, work in a similar way. In this policy, we call them all "cookies".

2. How we use cookies

2.1 We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. We do not use cookies for advertising, we do not allow advertisers to track you on our Service, and we do not use any third-party analytics tools.

2.2 We use two kinds of cookies:

  • Essential cookies, which are needed for the Service to work, for example to keep you signed in and show you content you have access to. The law allows us to use these without asking for your consent.
  • Preference cookies, which remember choices you have made, such as light or dark mode, or that you have closed a notice. The law allows us to use these without asking for your consent, as long as we tell you about them and give you a simple way to turn them off (see section 4).

2.3 To understand how the Service is used, we use our own built-in analytics. This records which pages and entries are viewed on our own servers, along with your IP address and, if you are signed in, your account. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use this information.

Payments

When you make a payment, you are taken to a secure payment page hosted by Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies on that page to help prevent fraud; see Stripe's cookie policy. We do not load Stripe on our own website.

Fonts

Some fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address in order to deliver them, but does not set cookies through our website.

In our apps

The CheckIt apps store a sign-in token in your device's secure storage (the Keychain on iOS, the Keystore on Android) so that you stay signed in. They also store your preferences and a copy of site information on your device so the app loads quickly. The apps do not use any advertising or third-party tracking technologies.

4. Your choices

4.1 Preference cookies. You can turn off preference cookies at any time using [the "Remember my preferences" setting – LOCATION TO CONFIRM]. The Service will still work, but it will not remember your choices.

4.2 Browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies and local storage using your browser settings. See your browser's help pages, or visit aboutcookies.org, for guidance. If you block essential cookies, you may not be able to sign in.

5. Changes to this policy

5.1 We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use. If we ever want to use cookies that need your consent, we will ask for it first.
